Community Guidelines

Last Updated: March 9, 2026

GlassyIndex's Community Guidelines explain what behavior and content are allowed on the Site, how we promote trust and integrity in Price Reports and reviews, and what will get an account warned, suspended, or terminated. They work together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Be clear, factual, and honest – we want the Site to be a reliable resource for people researching cosmetic procedures. The Site is intended for use by consumers in the United States. We make no representations that the Site or Services are appropriate or available for use in other locations.

1. What's Allowed

  • Genuine first‑hand Price Reports and reviews by patients who personally received the procedure.
  • Public, factual information about pricing, provider names, treatment areas, and personal experiences, provided they do not reveal private information of other individuals.
  • Constructive clinic responses when the clinic response feature is available.
  • Respectful questions and clarifications about procedures and experiences.

2. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Do not:

  • Post false, misleading, fabricated, or staged reviews or Price Reports.
  • Submit multiple reports of the same procedure to manipulate averages or Sparkle.
  • Upload receipt images you did not legally obtain or alter receipt images to misrepresent price or provider.
  • Attempt to identify anonymous reviewers or publish private information.
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users, including clinics or providers.
  • Post content that violates intellectual property rights unless you own the rights or have permission.
  • Pay, coerce, or otherwise incentivize reviews without disclosure per our Terms.
  • Attempt to manipulate Sparkle or other trust metrics.

3. Sparkle Credibility System

  • Sparkle rewards high‑quality contributions (detailed Price Reports, legitimate receipts, thoughtful follow‑ups).
  • Sparkle points are non‑transferable, have no monetary value, and are for recognition only.
  • Manipulation of Sparkle (false submissions, duplicate accounts) is prohibited.

4. Follow‑Ups and Timed Prompts

  • We may send automated follow‑up prompts at approximately 2 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months to collect outcome updates linked to the original Price Report.
  • Follow‑ups are voluntary and can be opted out of in account settings.

5. Visibility and Anonymity

  • Patient reviews and Price Reports are displayed using auto‑generated anonymous usernames; your real name and email are never shown publicly.
  • Some data (basic clinic info and summary price ranges) is visible to all site visitors. More detailed fields are visible only to signed‑in patients. Certain fields are internal‑only and never displayed publicly (age range, discovery source, incentive status).

6. Flagging, Disputes, and Moderation

6.1 Flagging Process

  • Users and clinics may flag content they believe violates the Community Guidelines or Terms.
  • Flags are reviewed by our moderation team. For simple cases, we may remove or hide content; for contested or sensitive cases (e.g., alleged fraud or DMCA claims), we follow the two‑step review process described in the DMCA Policy.

6.2 Clinic Flags and Disputes

  • Clinics may flag reviews they allege are fraudulent or defamatory. Such flags trigger a documented review. Clinics may present evidence but cannot unilaterally remove reviews. Clinics are encouraged to submit public responses once the clinic response feature is available.

6.3 Appeals

  • If your content is removed or hidden, you may appeal via our contact page. Appeals are reviewed by a human moderator.

7. No Retaliation and Clinic Conduct

  • Clinics must not retaliate against reviewers (legal threats, harassment, doxxing). Retaliation is grounds for removal of claimed status, suspension, or other sanctions.
  • Clinics must not attempt to identify anonymous reviewers or otherwise circumvent Site privacy mechanisms.

8. DMCA and Copyright

  • If you believe content violates your copyright, follow the DMCA process in our DMCA & Copyright Policy.
  • Abuse of DMCA notices to remove lawful reviews is prohibited and may lead to account sanctions.

9. Enforcement

Actions we may take:

  • Warnings, content removal, hiding, Sparkle point adjustments.
  • Account suspension or termination.
  • Removal of clinic claimed status.
  • Referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
  • Legal action against repeat abusers, including enforcement of anti‑scraping provisions and liquidated damages.

10. Questions or Reports

If you see content that violates these Guidelines, flag it on the Site or contact us via: glassyindex.com/about/contact.
